Assisting Our Clients' Needs to Understand and
Monitor Language Training Objectives.

Dialog offers a wide range of language proficiency testing services that help companies make the correct corporate language training decisions. We evaluate speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to determine the level of the student's language proficiency.

Fundamental to the success of any corporate language training program is the ability to understand clearly what the client hopes to achieve and the language training needs and objectives of the program's participants. At Dialog, we clearly recognize and understand that student assessment, testing, evaluation and effective "real time" reporting (including attendance reporting) are integral components of corporate language training. Further, we understand that effectively planned and administered assessment and evaluation techniques--at the very outset (and throughout) a language training program--can promote learning, build confidence and develop students' understanding of themselves as effective language learners. These evaluation, monitoring, testing and reporting services are provided free of charge.

We put these pieces together and the assessment/evaluation process starts with an appropriate understanding of a client's objectives and the students' language training objectives. All client reports are available on line in real time and HR managers are able to immediately access student attendance and participation as teachers enter data and evaluative information on a daily (for example, attendance at the beginning of each class) and weekly basis.

Working closely with our clients' HR and training professionals, Dialog initially conducts a comprehensive students' needs analysis via testing and personal meetings and evaluations --free of charge--to identify and quantify the training required to meet the client's specific language training objectives. Before assigning an instructor to an individual or mini-group, we assess, carefully, each student's language proficiency and understand the student's needs and suitability for inclusion in a specific group. For example, for all prospective English students, we utilize a free ninety minute English Language Skills Assessment ("ELSA") which is a web as well as a personal interview-based assessment of English language proficiency to determine the level of the student's English language skills.

We also rely heavily on frequent formative assessment and evaluation which focuses on the actual processes and results of language learning. Formative assessment is continuous and is meant to inform the student, the client and the teacher of the student's progress toward the curriculum objectives as initially defined. This type of assessment and evaluation provides information upon which instructional decisions and adaptations can be made and provides the client and students with directions for future learning. It also enables the client to make better decisions concerning a student's suitability for inclusion in a particular program and whether the client and/or student's objectives are actually being met.
